Venue/Location

Is the full conference located at the Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder?
Yes, the entire conference agenda will take place at the Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder. Please note that your conference registration does not include accommodations.

 

How much does the hotel cost?
The Spiritual Care Association has arranged a special rate for our conference attendees. Early Bird Hotel Rate is $150 per night from Saturday, April 18 – Thursday, April 23rd and must be reserved by March 19, 2020. Please note the hotel is ADA compliant.

 

Must I stay at the hotel to attend the conference?
No, we are suggesting these hotel accommodations for your convenience. You are free to make independent arrangements for your lodging separate from the conference registration.

 

Can SCA offer a roommate referral service if we stay at the hotel?
We do not offer this service. If you would like to communicate with conference attendees, you may do so through our Facebook page.

 

What airport should I use?
Santa Fe municipal airport: (SAF) approximately 30 minutes from the resort Albuquerque International Sunport: (ABQ) approximately 90 minutes from the resort.


Meals and Dietary Restrictions

Does the conference registration include meals?
The full conference registration includes lunch on Monday and Tuesday. It also includes a light continental breakfast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be additional food options through the hotel’s restaurant for an additional cost.

 

Do you offer kosher or halal meals?
Yes, kosher and halal meals are offered at $45 per meal and may be purchased during the registration process. The hotel can provide breakfast and lunch for this meal option.

 

Do you offer vegetarian meals?
Yes, vegetarian, not vegan, meals are provided at no additional cost but must be indicated during the registration process. The hotel can provide breakfast and lunch for this meal option.

 

What do I do if I have food allergies or require a special diet not listed?
Please provide this information in the online registration form. We will do our best to work with the hotel to accommodate your needs, but cannot guarantee it.


Continuing Education and Certificate of Attendance

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
Yes, all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance/CEU certificate. All certificates will be automatically emailed after the conference. You will receive the certificates no later than 3 weeks after the conclusion of the event.

 

How many continuing education units (CEUs) does the conference provide?
The conference qualifies up to 22 CEUs.

 

Can I earn continuing education units (CEUs) through the webcast?
Yes, webcast long distance learning qualifies up to 15 CEUs. You will have to sign an online form and view the content within 25 days of the conclusion of the conference.

 

How many physician CME credits are available for the conference?
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joint sponsorship of the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UASOM) and the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network. The UASOM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Alabama School of Medicine designates this conference for a maximum of 22 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (s)™. Physicians should claim only the credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The University of Alabama School of Medicine is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution.

 

How many social worker contact hours are available?
This program is pending approval by the National Association of Social Workers for up to 22 continuing education contact hours.

 

How many nurse CNE or CE contact hours are available for the conference?
This continuing nursing education activity is pending approval by the Tennessee Nurses Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation. You may receive up to 22 CNEs.

 

Is there additional costs for CEUs?
There are no extra charges to apply for conference CEUs.

 

Will my accrediting agency accept the conference CEUs?
Acceptance of CEUs is up to your individual accrediting agency. Many state boards accept offerings approved by national or other state organizations. Please check with your own professional licensing board to determine whether our offering will be accepted.


Scholarships and Discounts

Are there scholarships or discounts offered for special sectors (i.e., CPE students, nurses)?
At this time, there are no scholarships. SCA offers special membership rates, early bird rates and group rates. Please click here for rate information. Please note that Westberg Symposium attendees pay the same rate as SCA members.

 

Is there a group discount rate?
Group discounts are available. Groups are defined as two or more from one institution when purchased at the same time. Please click here for rate information. 


Webcast

What requirements are needed on our end to participate in the conference virtually via Webcast?
Technical specifications to ensure that webcast participant’s audio, video and computers are compatible with our vendor will be sent before the conference begins.

 

Will documents, slides, and PowerPoint presentations be available to virtual attendees?
Virtual attendees will have access to a live stream of all three days of the plenary and keynote addresses and select workshops in their entirety, as well as access to handouts.

 

Can multiple sites access the webcast using the same access code?
No. There is one webcast license per site however; the webcast license does permit an unlimited number people to view the conference per site.


Content & Video Recording

Will I have access to see the video recording?
Yes, every participant will receive a code to view all recorded presentations: keynote, plenaries, and select workshops.

Do you provide copies of the slides?
Copies are provided via the conference app during the conference and via a secure link after the conference for your convenience.


Registration

Is there Walk-in in or Day-of registration?
Walk-In or Day-of registration will be available; however, no discounted rates will be available. Please note that payment in full is due prior to the beginning of the conference.

 

What if I only want to attend for one day?
We have single day tickets available. Single day tickets include all activities for the day selected including a light breakfast and lunch for that day.

Can I get a refund?
We will refund registration fees minus $75 cancellation fee until March 2, 2020. There will be no refunds after that date.

 

I will be arriving on Sunday; can I start my registration then?
Yes, we will have a pre-registration desk open from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Sunday at the conference venue.


Call for Posters

What information must I provide to be considered for the poster session?
Title, Problem, Action Taken, Outcomes/Data, Institution, Contact email and telephone information. Poster submission will be accepted here.

 

I presented my poster at another conference, could I still be considered for this conference?
Yes, you will still be considered.

 

What is the deadline for poster submission?
Poster abstracts will be reviewed on a rolling basis until February 28, 2020.

 

Do I have to be at the conference to present my poster?
If you are selected and choose to display a poster at the Annual Conference, you must be registered and are responsible for your own travel and hotel accommodations.

 

Will I have an opportunity to speak to conference attendees about my poster?
Yes, we have formal poster sessions scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.


Renewal Ceremony

I already registered for the conference do I need to register for the renewal ceremony as well?
No, the renewal ceremony is already included in your ticket.
